Maria De Scrilli

Ever since I was a child I have worked in my family's hotel in Bologna. After high school I chose to graduate in engineering but, after a few years of work, I decided it wasn't the right path for me. I handed in my notice, did a master's degree in tourism and started working full-time in the hotel. Initially as a receptionist and later I took over the management of the property. Since May ‘23 I have been a member of the Board of Directors of Best Western Italia.

What motivates me every day is running the family business with an eye on innovation and a particular focus on sustainability: we are actively working to achieve GSTC (Global Sustainable Tourism Council) certification.
